Inspirare and Prayer Ministry: A Personal Experience
Joining Inspirare has been one of the best decisions I have made. It has been four years since, and I have seen how the group has evolved spiritually. Starting off as a purely singing group, God has inspired Inspirare to expand its ministry by incorporating prayer as part of its outreach. This change given the group a new sense of direction, another perspective—an opportunity to both share God’s love through music and to connect with other people on a personal level through prayer.
As a member, my experience with Inspirare adding prayer to its ministry has been a huge blessing. It’s now one of the things I look forward to on our concerts because I get to meet new people, connect with them, and encourage them with God’s precious promises through prayer. I do not see myself as someone proficient with praying, but at times I would be stunned by how some people would have tears in their eyes or genuine smiles on their faces right after I finish praying for them, and then express their gratitude for taking the time to listen and pray for them. It reminds me of the saying,
“God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called”.
- Mark Batterson
By being willing to be used by God as an instrument to serve others, a simple prayer can become a powerful tool in blessing others in ways we don’t even know.
I believe prayer ministry has impacted the group, most especially in the way we would practice praying for each other. It has allowed us to grow together spiritually, to strengthen our faith in God, and to build up our relationships with one another. Because of this, Inspirare has even become my second family. This spiritual family of mine has given me the opportunity to not only grow as a musician through the use of my talents for God’s glory, but to reach out to more souls by praying for them. Really, there is no greater joy in life than to serve the Lord.
